I just picked up some new new coil springs for the front of my mx. I had allready replaced the coils with a new stock set an this is the second coil that broke on me. there was 2 brakes in the coil one happened a wile ago onthe bottom an the other seemed to happen over the winter wile I had the car in storrage at the top of the coil "wierd". I am planning to upgrade to escort zx2 shocks an coils but I have to wait a bit , needing new coils I got the coils for 98 escort an installed them on the old stock mx shocks. same top an bottom dia but it sits a inch higher an the windings are a bit thicker. I was suprized how well they work if I was not planning to change to the escort shocks witch will lower the front end a inch . I would recomend them as a uprade for stock shocks if your not interested in lowering the front end

Hi there.

In Canada Mazda has a recall on the front springs. This is because salt used on roads causes a brine solution ( salt and water) which makes the springs snap in half. Most of the time it snaps a part off the last few turns. However when I went to put DropZone coilovers in, and I was removing the rear springs one came off in three peices, so I wasnt all impressed. Just call up a dealership and they will arrange everything for you.
