Hello, I just bought a CX-9 with Navigation, Bose and Sirius and would like the capability to use my auxiliary input like everyone else. I'm interested in purchasing the switching box (TD13-79-CFZ), but am confused about the installation. Does the installation have to be performed by the dealer? Where is the switching box installed? In the center console? Does anyone have a picture of the switching box installed in their vehicle?
How do you turn-on the iPod once connected to the swtiching box? By pressing the media button?
Does the switching box use the the 12V port located in the glove box? The switching box does not charge the iPod simultaneously, correct? If it doesn't charge the iPod, is everyone using the 12V port in the glove box with a charger?
Can you turn off the iPod via the dash or steering wheel, or do you have to open the center console to turn it off?
Can someone describe how the navigation through Playlists/Albums/Artists/Songs works? Is it easy to navigate through the iPod using the dash or steering wheel controls? Is there any way to view "Now Playing" on the Nav screen or display above the Nav, or do you have to still use the iPod to see what songs are playing?
I really want the iPod capability, but it almost seems easier to burn 6 CDs of MP3s (that's still a lot of music) and have complete control.
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.
