Post counts can be hidden, maybe we should limit post count hiding to anyone with over 5000 posts!......BHR would obvioulsy fall into that catagory....in any case though, I don't think that post count is the reason why we have "post whores." I think that people either like the attention they get as a post *****, or just enjoy spending time here posting....I don't think that whoring would disipate by taking away post count.....

lets ask the whores....why do you post *****? Be truthful....

to remove post counts would be a true test of the *****, some would see no more joy and simply leave...other...darker...older postwhores would remain strong as ever

I really dont think that post counts are that much of a big deal... honesty they have a significance to newbies.... for the most part, i say in general, post counts represent older members....
now the significance to a newbie is that if you have a member telling you one thing and another newbie telling you something different... you tend to hear the "older" member more....

there are many exceptions to this... ho chi inn is an extremely valuable information member, yet he is what like under 1000?

Another forum I visit uses post counts but they also have something very different. They are respect points, and they are given by other members. so on the left you have a bar that shows your level of respect. If you post really valuable information members will give you points. But it is also important to know that members can take away points too. If you are just a ***** you may end up with negative points. Any newbie then knows not to listen to a **** thing you say. I don't know how hard that would be to set up here, or even if the software could accomodate it. But it is a neat idea I think.

As does crossbow who posts in the 3 and 6 sections. He is one of the best on the board as far as knowledge.

but it could be abused. for example, zmarko hates me and could assign me many negative points even though i wouldn't deserve them

what i'm talking about is something that yahoo had a few years ago..

when a person ask a question and say you answered it and i answered it, but the information you provided was more helpful and on point and by info was useless IE(a shifty face) then the starter of that thread/topic will give you a good rating(5 stars) and he would give me the negative post....

zmarko will only be able to rate you if you post in his thread

but i doubt mw can or will do something like this ...
