Cool

My wife bought me this new phone today as a valentines day surprise gift. It's pretty cool because it can play high quality MP3's, either 512 MB or 100 songs, on standard headphones or even in my car just like my ipod. It has other new features too, but I have to find out what they are! I never heard of the phone until she popped up at my job with it!

i like it, it actually looks just like the razr v3 flip phone, but in a non flip style, sounds like it has alot of extras, so you can hook that up in your car like an ipod and such?

Yup! This phone actually just came out this Monday and my wife just happened to stumble across it today. I though it was a new razor too. But yeah, the i-tunes works just like an ipod. It sounds really clear when playing back an MP3 from the speakerphone. I expected it to sound like your average "real" (non-polyphonic) ring tone, but it sounds very crisp. Of course there is barely any bass, but it's very clear. But yeah, it has an adapter that plugs into the charging port which connects the phone to any standard headphones. This is the same jack I use to play the ipod in the car.

Another cool feature I just found is that the phone can detect lightness or darkness through the camera lens. I was sitting here trying to figure out why the fuckin keypad back lights wouldn't work. I was getting very angry because there is no option to turn the back light on or off for the keypad and I couldn't figure out how to make them work. Then I decided to turn off the light in the room and hit the keypad and it lit right up. So that is a very cool battery saving feature. I just wish it was a flip because it's so new that they don't even have any cases available yet for it.

Do you have the Sony Ericsson P910i over there ? I've had it for a while now with the 1GB Memory stick and IMHO, no other phone can touch it ! I rely on mine for work and would never swap it for anything - apart from the P990i which is due out shortly.

In Oz? Yes, we do have the P910. Nice. Australia quickly followed the European "model" for digital cell phones (we call them "mobiles", NEVER "cell"). USA is USUALLY a bit behind mobile/cell phones for features and range, due to the dominace of CDMA.

Have a look:

I don't know. Is that a Cingular phone as well? Mine came with a 512MB memore card. I'm not really too "up" on cell technology, but more up on cell phone program modding!

Yeah, we call them mobiles or 'mobies' in the UK but the term 'cellphone' is practically unheard of.

as far as phones are concerned I'v never been into the super small of thin ones, I guess at a point they seem more like a toy then something useless, that and I think they would break....plus for whatever reason, I onlyt buy a cell phone like every 3-4 years, find hte sweetest 1 and keep ti around. my sanyo mm-7400 has served me well.
