Eunie suggested this, and a few people I've talked to seem to agree that this sounds like it could be fun. I've noticed a number of members seem to enjoy photography, and more and more are getting powerful digitals

His suggestion was "that which expresses the character of the Millenia/Eunos/Xedos best." Personally, I'd like this to be open to all mazda owners - perhaps a way to capture the spirit of Mazda?

I also agree with the limit to two photos per member, taken for the contest only (meaning I can't enter my photos from past meets for example). People would then vote for the winner. It would be open to anyone - using film or digital camera (though film users will need to get a digital file somehow), beginner or expert. Photos should have very little image processing - only cropping, resizing, or possibly slight touchups (no major photoshopping!) The contest would be open for say a month.

The winner could get something like supporter status (if they aren't one already) or perhaps their photo displayed somewhere on the site at a later date (which I can't promise). Suggestions on this are welcome.

Any ideas or suggestions related to this are welcome.

I think its a great idea...bummer for me is I don't own a Mazda anymore, but thats still okay. Depending on the quality, which I'm sure given photos I've seen members do, I think a putting it on the site somewhere would be great...given Shayaan is willing....great idea eunie and malice

As you say, if it's a car competition, it would have to involve all mazda's so everyone on the site is eligible. But then people might vote because of the car and not the photo!

Maybe something not cars .... will think more.

When I post pictures, I only get thumbnails for enlarging, yet some are able to upload loads of large pictures directly into their posts. Some clarification and instructions into how to post pictures would be useful.

It's a great idea though I don't know how you'd keep it from being subjective.

Members could take photo's of whatever and then they are submitted anonymously so no-one knows who actually took which photo's.

What I could do is disqualify myself and host pictures of up to say 1MB per photo, 2 photos per member, on my own site. This way, we'd have a somewhat decent server hosting the photos, the images would not be scaled down or thumbnails only, and wouldn't have any site name on it.

Once we figure things out (rules etc), I'll have anyone who wants to enter PM me for my email address. I'll then have everyone email me their photo to submit as well as the original, unaltered, direct from the camera with EXIF data photo. If you'll be scanning film - let me know.

Anyone have suggestions above and beyond the basic rules suggested so far?
