hey I guess no one knows that you cant modify a bose system. That is why its called a bose"system" Bose made their amplifiers and speakers to play only with one another. That is the reason why you can have such a small speaker and it sound fairly good for its size. so ill tell you later about what you have to do to change out your bose system. Laters

So like I was saying, before i got interupted by customers. the only thing you can do to change a bose is adding an adapter to change out the headunit. or you can not use an adapter and sauder rca's. Other than that, if you want to change anything else (meaning speakers and amps) its not possible. You have to scrpa everything and start over. Most efficient speakers I have heard that fit in a maxima. are the boston "RM6". they sound better than any other coaxil speaker and some component speakers.
another cooll thing is that you can run them off deck power or amps. they even make a 6 x 9 spaker for the rear. Which you can modify the rear deck to get thhose in. so you will bitchin sound with or without amps! laters!

Let's see... w/ a BOSE system I have had my stock 6x9's replaced with aftermarket Kenwood 6x9's (stock BOSE deck mind you) and everything still worked perfectly... about a month later I had my stock deck replaced with a Panasonic HU and after some messing around a friend and I were able to get the stock BOSE speakers running of the aftermarket HU. Only problem was the tweeter was not working because of the way the BOSE amp is set up. This was solved when I replaced the speakers altogether w/ a pair of Infinity's. Oh but all the speaker wires are STOCK SPEAKER WIRES... I'm sick of people saying you have to rip out everything (including speaker wires) when you want to upgrade a BOSE system. Most of it is just car stereo shops trying to milk you for all you are worth... you wouldn't happen to work in the car stereo business would you?
