Don't know if I'm going to keep it until I give it a good test out for a few weeks... I got the adapter and install for free so I'm going to let it run for a month that I paid for, and if I don't like it after that then I'll cancel it and rip it out of my car.

While it's a neat thing, I don't know that it will be worth the cash. Time will tell...

I have XM Radio and I use it extensively.... to the point that I rarely even listen to local stations anymore. I spend a lot of time in my car, and frequently make trips from San Diego to Los Angeles, so it's well worth it to me. Testing it out for yourself really is the only way to tell if it's good for you.

How's the reception on Sirius? Any dead or weak signal spots? And how's the music selection?

Thumbs up

I have XM as well, and I think it is a great alternative to CD's or Tapes. Sirus is just like XM, I think it even has close to the same stations(genre). When I bought my XM i was debating between that and Sirus. The sales man said that Sirus was at a make or break stage in the game....they need more subscribers otherwize it'll be gone in the next couple of years. So I went with the XM, and I must say i'm quite happy....a little channel bias but happy. I know probably both of them have repeaters in the city, so the concrete doesn't get in the way of the sattelite broadcast. Oh yea, whats up with the playboy channel on XM?????

Heh, what is up with playboy channel on XM? It costs $3 extra to get it. Are there really people out there willing to pay an extra $3 a month just to listen to porn?

And if there are.... do we really want them to be listening to porn while they're driving? People talking on cell phones are dangerous enough. Next thing you know you'll be seeing news reports of people getting into major accidents because they were spanking it while driving.

And as funny as that sounds, you can bet I'll post it in the Weekly Update if it ever happens... ...hoping to God that it won't, of course...

PS - Since Ford is linked up with Mazda, and because Ford signed a deal with Sirius, there's a good chance you might begin seeing Sirius receivers as an option in Mazda cars fairly soon.

I have never actually heard sirius or xm in a car and i was wondering how good of a reception you get? Is it as good as they claim, or do you have to be in a big city to get CD-quality sound? And does it get CD quality sound?

What I have found with the satelite radio, is that it is very similar to that of FM stations (but always clear). I do however have the FM modulator, which probably cuts down the quality consiterably .

We sell XM and Sirus at my work and I can get a real good deal on the reciever and also not have to pay the monthly fee for as long as I work there. I don't want an FM modulator. What brand do you think would be the best to get. I like the ones that have the smaller faceplate.

If you don't want a FM modulator then you either need a head unit that has auxiliary inputs, or a head unit that supports satellite radio. What head unit do you have now... and does it have auxiliary inputs (or can you add them?). If not, then you either have to go with a FM modulator, or get a new head unit.
