i knowa few people who have done it before i.e s2k onto a 528i, so if they can help me ill get pics, if i have to break down and go somewhere ill see what i can do- as for the wiring its hard toexplain- if your sitting in the drivers seat and look as where its painted metal in the frame of where the door fits theres like a 1.5x1.5inch opening, i feed the wire though there and the it was in the engine compartment(abot 10 inchs worth of feeding needed) i then below the windshields theres a very thin rubber strip that comes up on sections, i just cut a small hole and put it thugh- its hard to explain, you;d have to see it

the number one bit of advice I can give you is to USE RUBBER GROMMETS around the power wire. Depending on the gauge of wire you use, you will need to drill out a hole for the power wire from the battery. If you use rubber grommets whenever the wire goes through metal it will both water proof the hole as well as keeping the metal from your drilled hole eating away the insulation around your power wire & blowing the fuse every time you hit a bump. I used 0 gague (it was laying around) in hind site 4 gague would have been much easier to work with. And yes, I think all S engine compartments are cramped.

I got a high end wiring kit, so the insultion is pretty much enough, but where i fed it into the engine compartment the wire is jammed in between the outside of the hood hinge and the sidewall. so if you look though the gap in the panels you can see like 6 inchs of it, not a problem at all, its all weather proofed and everything, but sun is bleaching out the color, but who cares.
