What about Boston.........? And it also has a lot to do with phazing. Placement and angle of speakers, type of box, gauge of wireing etc........lots and lots of variables that go into making a great system.

^^^ Everything you said is true Ski... I did mean to mention Boston though. They make great speakers (esp. 6x9's) and their subs are very good SQ subs (very natural sounding.)

I am a firm believer in Bostons. The system I took out of my car was all boston! 6x9's front and back, tweeters on the A'pillar (now there are holes on my pillars from where they used to be ) and subs in the back!.......gotta love Boston Acoustic

I still dabble in the car audio world (not as much as the past tho, used to sell it) some, I personally like the JL audio line of subs & sub amps. I have 2 JL 10w3d6's in a sealed box pushed up right against the back of the rear seats w/subs firing upwards into the rear deck w/the storage box rremoved, replaced w/a reworked gutted box for my port. I currently use a JL 250 x 1 amp, but am going to upgrade to the 500x 1 soon. Boston does make very musical speakers as well as Focal (way pricy tho), I just like A/D/S tho (haven't seen much of them since they were bought out) for front speakers, very smooth highs (silk dome tweets are what my ears prefer), I have to say MB Quart doesn't make a bad product for the money. The trend in audio to use metal in tweeters is not something my ears like. For Amps, Rockford still makes some good sub amps check reviews first, they make 2 lines, PPI does too. For your front speakers, I am not sure right now what amp to use anymore.
Seldom, man Sherwood?? I rember them, but didn't care for them much. Orion/Hifonics is not what they used to be, neither is Soundstream, I am not saying these are bad companies, just not for me.
