Hey guys my display on my kenwood, just went out. It still plays but the display isnt working. Its a kenwood kdc-519. It flips-down and detachable so i think its just somn in the face. Have you guys ran into the same problem, what did you do about it??? Wonda if i can just buy a new face?? Thanks for the input...

if it's a large full-size color LCD then expect to pay a lot for a replacement if it's not something simple. if it's under warranty, call them up and bitch now, maybe it's a common problem and they'll help you or just replace it...
if it's a few years old, its prolly cheaper to buy a new HU

I took the faceplat apart and everythings integrated into a big chip (no fuses or bulbs to check). I found new faceplates on ebay 4 $30, but i figga i could upgrade to a new MPV8025 for around $200. I'm really diggin the display. On a side note what the fukks the purpose of havin a detachable faceplat if u can just go buy new ones once u steal the reciever???
 hmmm should get brand new 4 $208 or fact. refurb. for $150.... better play it safe on dis one...

i have that HU haha, good unit...
and yes, you can get new faceplates... contact kenwood. as long as you have the old one, they shouldn't give you a theft problem... who knows? could just be a short in the "dimmer" wire (if you have it hooked up)
