Just wondering, but how do you guys with systems prevent your alternator from going bad or is it even possible? Last night my battery charge light came on, but I just put in a new battery a couple of months ago. One of my friends said that it is probably my alternator because of the amp.

It came on when I was leaving a store last night, honestly I can't remember if it came on when I started the car or after I started pulling out of the parking lot. But it was not on before I went to the store.

its I saw the subs that you have and I wouldnt think that they would draw too much power from your alternator... maybe its just going dead... I have upgraded the power wire from the alternator to the battery.. It helps by reducing the resistance within the electrical system...

I would just go to autozone and have them check it out, for free

So, today one of my guy friends checked out my car and he noticed that the alternator belt didn't look right. I should have taken a picture and posted it on here, but the belt look like it had been through **** and back. It had snapped and I can't even describe what it looked like. Which is sad considering I got all of those belts replaced along with the timing belt back in May. But my friend went to that place that "supposedly" fixed my car and got a new one for free and he put the belt on for me right. So now my car is up and running smooth.

don't listen to music really loud when the engine is off... i remember when i was setting up my amp i was blasting it in the garage.... barely got the car started... then i went for a ride and kept it loud the whole time.... when i stopped at a light i noticed my gauges were dimming... then the battery light came on.... then it stalled

I will keep that in mind because sometimes I listen to music with the engine off. Usually I hardly ever listen to it up loud to be honest. I think I usually keep the volume on 17 but the bass is on 3+ which I sometimes turn down and probably should keep it down. The only time I ever turn it up loud is when someone I don't like pulls up next to me

j-allan: Don, how can you sleep at night knowing your car is available to drive 24/7? Very, very tasteful mods, IMO, from the signal mirrors to the hids and engine compartment, well done!
Kat_Daddy: btw, i think plat still holds the milly crown here. Don is moving into the #1 contender spot though...
