I was planning to upgrade the audio in my Mazda3 and last night while surfing online I found some good deals on aftermarket amp and subs at http://www.dealrocker.com. I want to hook up the amp and subs to the stock head unit. Is there anyone done this before? I wanna make sure about the sound quality before any purchase decision.
Your input will be helpful.

sorry to bring up an older thread, but the "special converter" is called a LOC or Line Output Converter. they can be purchased for between $20 and $40 depending an quality, and where you buy it. you hook up the positive and negative of the 2 rear speakers (Left and Right), usually done at the back of the radio (makes it a lot easier). Then you plug a normal stereo RCA cable into it, and that goes to your amp. Basically, it just takes the amplified signal from the stock head unit and steps it down to a low voltage "line level" signal that your amp can understand without damage.
