Default Alarm Immobiliser

I have a 2000 Mazda Metro. I discovered accidentally it had an alarm when I disconnected the battery and reconnected it later. I found the trick in disabling it with nn key on offs. The question is am I likely to be able to get the alarm immobiliser working again. There are no available keys or remotes. Actually what I would really like is to get the central locking working which is part of the system. Or if I could completely discard the alarm unit I could then work on the central locking independantly. All the wiring and door lock motors are installed.
Any tips greatly appreciated.
I don't believe it is a genuine Mazda unit
