GOOD LUCK I've been dealing with the same issue on my 6s for the last 8 months....and have finally claimed lemon law. I had the offer to replace the car as well and they backed out two days before it was to go through. Get it all in writing........and stay on them. I haven't seen resolution to this yet.

Their is an update that fixes the misfire code, and if it continues to come back, in the future there is a fix for misfires that arent fixed by the PCM. You know what your code is, that is a really good first step. They have isolated the misfire issue, and sometime in the future a change (or TS
will be coming down the pipe

While that's good to hear......I am beyond that point now with this particular car. I am considering a 2004......possibly........but for now, I have to find legal closure on this matter.
The codes are various approximately 8 - 10 different ones.......and several "phantom ones" that don't belong to my car at all. The technicians are baffled. I've posted prior replys with those exact codes and received no responses. I'm just trying to keep the info out there for anyone else dealing with the same or similar issues. Like I said, I realize every model is going to have lemons.......I am just one of the unfortunate ones to have drawn the short straw this time. Is good to hear that not many of the 2004's are having the same issues.....that is promising. I still love the car.....regardless. |

well yes, in your case its not an option, its a disgrace that you are actually having to fight to get a new car. Hopefully you will have much better luck in the new one, and enjoy the car for years to come

Hey Guys I'm new to the forums. I actually just got a 2004 Mazda 3 S 2.3L. I noticed that alot of people on the Mazda 3 forums are starting to have the same problem with the "CEL" light coming on. I only have 1,300 miles on my car and so far I haven't had this problem and hopefully I don't. My point being that this is starting to be comman occurance with the new mazda's and if thats the case there could be a class action suit brought up to mazda if this problem isn't found out and fixed with a recall. No one should have to go through this. People buy new cars becuse they don't want to be in the shop every week. It's just crazy in todays world. The quality of work put into products is just beyond poor. And it's not just cars, it's anything you buy today. Good luck guys and I hope everything works out for ya.

"UPDATE"
The Mazda Manufacturer did buy back the 2004 Mazda6 but not until deducting usage fee which was authorized under lemon law, taking back the rebates. In the end it cost: 6mth of payments, my trade-in, and about $700 in usage fee. "THIS ONLY STRENGTHEN MY BELIEF - NEVER BUY OR OWN A FORD" *In case you didn't know, FORD built the MAzda6.* |

I was a the service manager at a Honda and Nissan store before I went back to school and completed a MIS degree. All manufacuters have defects. I have a 2004 Mazda 6 and three days ago my CEL come on for the first time. The car has been a champ and is **** fast. Ford does not make the Mazda 6 though it maybe one made in an American Plant just like Nissan or Honda... |

Hey All,
New to the forum, I have a 2005 Maz 6 Luxury sports, luv it, but it's using oil to the tune of 1 litre to the 1000 klm, no smoke, no leaks, goin like a clock, had the compression ckecked, all good, told it needs a rebuild, but they can't tell me why, any feed back would be great, it has 180000 klm, and I'm the original owner. And by the way , no engine light has ever come on. Last edited by Redhorse; 06-19-2012 at 02:41 AM. |
