My wife has a 2006 Mazda 6i with about 70k miles on it. It started making a humming noise that you can only hear if you are inside the car. This morning she started it and it stalled. Never did that before. So I popped the hood and had her start it. The Power Steering pump sounded a little loud and was low on fluid so I added more. This didn't do anything for the noise inside. I haven't been able to find a single answer that fits my problem. From what I can tell, it can be anything from the A/C fan to the fuel pump. The noise sounds like it just fills the car and it does not go away even when the A/C is off. This tells me, probably not the A/C.
Any ideas on what to check next? I'll try to pinpoint the noise tonight when I have more time to crawl around it. |

So the car is making a humming noise anymore. It won't even start. My wife drove it home from work and we went out to start it a couple hours later and it wouldn't start. It doesn't sound like the fuel pump is even kicking on. From what I've read online, I should be able to take the back seat out and pull the pump out from there. Does anyone have any pictures of the procedure or resources I can read up on it? I'm an IT guy not a mechanic, so I need all the help I can get.
Thanks. |
