2.3 worth rebuilding?

I have a 2002 Millenia S with the 2.3l Miller Cycle engine and the timing belt broke now I have no compression in number 3 cylinder. This car has had a lot of work done to it lately are these engines worth rebuilding or is there a poor success rate in doing so.

Why not if you like it but will be expensive The timing belt wont damage the engine , but no compression in 3 could be a big problem , my suggestion dont do it.
If its done high mileage the supercharger will be next

Car ran smooth before timing belt broke so what could cause the sudden loss of compression in one cylinder

took valve covers off valve position looks right. I put air to the cylinder that had no compression and at top dead center on that cylinder air comes out the spark plug hole next to it the cylinder that had no compression is located on the front bank right cylinder air coming out center cylinder I would guess at this point that I have a blown head gasket not a bad valve. That is going to be a lot of time to fix.

Hi Dale,

This will indeed be a lotttt of work my brother!
I would drop a used engine, and swap over all of your good parts to the newer engine, and sell off the rest of the parts on ebay!

Here is one good listing for a JDM 1995-1997 mazda millennia s engine (with ~ 45K - 65Kmiles), but you can swap over your top intercooler plumbing, coolers, engine harness'..... ($899.00USD + Shipping) Think about it!
