Millenia S VERY slow acceleration

My 01 millenia has been accelerating very slowly. In the first 15 minutes of being started, it does 0 to 60 in about 7 or 8 seconds but after that, 60 takes about 15 seconds to get to. It does have some slow leaky valve seals, but I think the problem is something else. it also has been squeaking and Ive read that it may be the catalytic converter (not sure which one). please help

Dude i went through this before read my.thread. If your vacuum lines, spark plugs, coil and fuel filter and injectors are ok then it's your main catalytic converter the one underneath the car at the middle section. Depending on which state you are located and if they don't have emissions laws just go to a muffler shop and tell them to cut it out and replace it with straight pipe. If you have any questions just call me. My name is Stephen and located in Miami FL. This cars are nice but you have to be Patience with it and have basic mechanical knowledge or else mechanics will just take you for a fool barely any mechanics know or ever worked on this car before.

Are you throwing any oxygen sensor codes, the easy way to tell is jack the car up. And start it then go underneath it and feel the catalytic converter and i believe when it's bad it get hot immediately because it's clogged. It will also cause squeaking noise during acceleration and your car would choke around 60-80mph it wouldn't rev past 3k rpm or go past 70mph on the highway, sometimes it will make your car run hot.

Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna check the spark plugs first. Then I'm going to check on that catalyic converter. I will definitely keep in touch because I know only a FEW things about this car :/

Oh yeah, the car still revs to 5,000 RPM's but it doesn't get up and go. It still can do 80mph but it takes forever to get there.

Best advice bro don't drive it in that condition or else you might kill all your CATs..first is your CEL on? If not then it's your cat, get it cut ASAP

yeah my check engine light is on so it may be something else. But, the car feels clogged like it can't breathe that's why I think its a Cat. But I don't drive it often. I let it sit for about 2 weeks. I just moved it around in my yard to keep the battery alive. I just started back driving it. Ive been driving it for about 4 days now..

Then it's your CATs, i had the same symptoms. Get your code read at autozone or advance auto parts and post it on here. That's the first thing you should do, it's impossible to diagnose a car when the CEL is on and you don't know the codes. A vacuum leak, bad spark plug or coil will attribute to this type of symptoms.

Ok. I once got it looked at autozone but he said that it didn't pick up any codes. I'm not sure why though. But I'll get it checked again and post the code(s) on here, probably at the end of this week. Thanks for all the advice!

Pull the codes and post them. That would be the first place to start.
