New Mazda Owner and New to Site with Many Questions.
I am a new Mazda owner but the vehicle is a 1994 Mazda MX3 GS WITH 1.8 v6
It is my first Mazda and the vehicle was purchased for my Grandson who, in the last few months, joined the Marine Corp.
Never owned a Mazda before and was reluctant since I assumed that all Mazda had rotary engines. Glad I was wrong.
The vehicle has 160K and is in immaculate condition. It does have some problems but after working on Helicopters for over twenty years, I should be able to fix most of them.
I do have one problem that is blowing my mind. It is on its third CAT.
I contacted Bureau of Automotive Repair, here in California, and found out that the vehicle has a history of HIGH HC and HIGH NOX at SMOG.
I am aware of the potential problems but not sure where to start since I have to get a new SMOG to register vehicle.
I am going to post one question herein but will try to post other questions in the appropriate model forum.
Will high fuel pressure cause this problem? Since the vehicle has a history of the high HC and NOX, I am wondering if putting a fuel pressure regulator in the system would help remedy the problem.
ALL INPUT WOULD BE HELPFUL AND THANKS IN ADVANCE.
