On this 1990 B2600i 4x4 ext cab, when I open the door the alarm beeps whether the key is in or out of the ignition, lights on or off. I'm guessing it has to do with the ignition, but I'd like to just disable the beeper. Anyone know if this is hard to get to or where it is?
Thanks, I'll have a look. For now I have disabled the driver side switch, but that leaves the light off when the door opens. I'll crawl under and see if I can unplug the buzzer or at least muffle it with tape or something.
This is a stab in the dark, but is the ignition in the LOCK position? I ask this because I can pull my key out when it is the ACC position, and the buzzer sounds as if the key is in the ignition (even though it isn't).

Wow EricJRW, You nailed it. you get the red mazda award. Funny, the more I actually turn it to the lock position, the easier it gets. Now I've got to fix that Freewheel lock switch. I have to unlock it each time I start the mazda. Mine is a grey colored 4x4 with 258,000 miles. Just put that new motor in.
