2011 CX-9 PTU (transfer case fail)
I just took my Mazda CX 9 to the dealer to address a Safety Recall on the front suspension lower arm ball joint. The car has 92000 miles on it. I just got a call from the dealer letting me know that the PTU or transfer case needs to be replaced. The estimate is $1738.00.
There has been a strange chemical smell inside the car and a metallic abrasive noise when driving in the last few days. I thought it was related to the recall, but no.
Has anyone had this success with this from a reimbursement perspective? Has Mazda USA owned their poor craftsmanship/engineering and done the right thing by it's customers? Any feedback is appreciated!
