Zoom7 Thanks for the PN. Had to replace mine so I went ahead and ordered it online. Here's the stop lamp switch that I purchased https://www.mazdapartsprime.com/oem/...23266490a.html

chiman0101 I had the same in 2015 on my 2010 CX-9. It was a bad brake switch. SWITCH, STOP LAMP. Part # L232-66-490A. It is around $35. Hope this helps.

craig7866 I have a similar situation that has just started with my 2012 CX-9. The brake lights are very dim and the upper hatch brake light doesn't come on at all when the brakes are depressed.
Any solutions on this problem?
Thanks, Craig

beergulper It may be caused by a bad ground or your brake light switch may need replacing.

break lights don't work

I have a 2010 cx-9 and my break lights don't work. When my lights are not on the left and right brake lights come on, sometimes bright and sometimes dim but if my lights are on you can hardly notice that the break lights are on when the brake is depressed and my center break light doesn't come on in either situation. I play with the stop switch and sometimes I can make them brighter or dimmer just by jiggling it and once in a while the center light will come on briefly, very dim to start with and then go out. Do you think it is a stop switch problem and how hard is it to access to switch? I can barely get my hand on it to move around.

Thanks
